Probability and Measure, Winter Semester January to April 2016.

Instructor Reg Kulperger  WSC 231. e-mail:  kulperger@stats.uwo.ca or phone 519-661-3627 (or 83627 on campus).

Lectures Monday 2:30-4:30 and Thursday 2:30-3:30 PM EST.

Material for the course

This course will for the most part be based on Rosenthal’s monograph

A First Look at Rigorous Probability Theory

See http://probability.ca/jeff/grprobbook.html for Jeff Rosenthal’s page about this monograph.  It also contains a list of typos

The UWO bookstore should have copies of this book in stock under the course number.

Since asymptotics methods in statistics are important for statistical inference, and since these are often based on limit theorems to manipulate some version of a Central Limit Theorem, the later part of the course will depart to this topic.
